Tea tree oil is used for its anti-inflammatory and antimicrobial properties. It is also used to heal skin and reducing swelling since ancient times. Till now most people use it to treat acne and redness on the skin.
Why did I start using it?
Well, I don’t have acne issues like yeah sometimes I get seasonal acne or pimples but I don’t use any remedy as it goes away on its own. Last year I got nose piercing and I will write a detailed post about my nose piercing journey some other day. Well after 6 or 7 months, a dreaded nose bump (Keloid) appeared and nothing worked. I tried 2-3 antibiotic ointments but nothing really worked.
I started searching and reading stuff about the healing process on google. All the people who shared their nose piercing bump and its recovery talked about tea tree oil. So I ended up buying Hemani Tea Tree Oil.
Tea Tree Oil is very beneficial but also it is very aggressive to use directly on the skin. It is recommended to do a patch test before applying to the infected area. So you have to dilute it with water or mix any other oil to make it a little less concentrated.
I took two drops of Hemani tea tree oil, two drops of water, and a small pinch of sea salt. It became a thick paste and I applied it on my bump overnight. I did this for a week and after that, it started reducing. It perfectly dried my keloid up and after shrinking bit by bit, it disappeared. So yes this turned out to be the best antiseptic. It smells very harsh so you’ve to bear it. I will recommend buying tea tree oil as soon as you get the nose piercing so if you get any bump you can heal it before it gets worse.
